Mrs. Heath was designated as Master School Principal by the Arkansas Leadership Academy in May, 2008. The Master Principal Program was established by the Arkansas 84th General Assembly in 2003 and signed into law as Act 44 by the governor. The Arkansas Leadership Academy and the Arkansas Department of Education jointly determine the criteria for selection of candidates. The program is a voluntary three phase (approximately three year) program administered by the Arkansas Leadership Academy. After completion of each phase, principals must submit evidence of successful school results to move forward to the next phase. Following the completion of Phase III of the program, a principal may apply for designation. Master Principal Designation is based on extensive reviews of school results and rigorous assessment.
