Wynne Primary School will focus on a specific character trait each month of the school year. Books have been selected to feature these character traits, and the literature will be used school wide to promote good character. The first week of each month, teachers will read a book that demonstrates the month's character trait. Each teacher will discuss the trait from the book and do an extension activity to display in the hallway. A bulletin board in the lobby will reflect the month's featured trait. Counselors will provide lessons in the classrooms following the monthly character trait schedule. Character traits will be spotlighted during morning announcements over the intercom. Additional character education materials will be kept in a special section in the library and will be available for teachers to use. These materials include library books, workbooks, units, and other materials. The list below outlines the words for each month, a brief description, and the book that goes with each trait.
