Technology: Business Applications
Grades 9-12
In this course,
students learn programs they can use while in school, as well as on
the job. The current integrated program provides students with the opportunity
to become proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software in one program, while
other software focuses on telecommunications. Currently, the Microsoft Office software is used. This course is a requirement for graduation.
Computer
Technology: Desktop Publishing I &
II
Grades 10-12
Students
learn to combine design principles and computer skills to prepare brochures,
advertisements, flyers and newsletters; calendars and more.
Prerequisite: Computer Technology: Business Applications
Computerized
Accounting I
Grades 10-12
This course
emphasizes basic accounting principles and procedures in a proprietorship
and partnership completing each step of the accounting cycle. This cycle
includes preparation of the journal, general ledger, balance ledger,
balance sheets, income statements, trial balance, and post-closing trial
balance by using working papers and automation. Additional topics covered
are payroll earnings and basic income taxes. Electronic calculators
and computers are used on a regular basis.
Prerequisite: Keyboarding, Algebra I with a grade of C
or better
Computerized
Accounting II
Grades 11-12
This course
emphasizes the third cycle of the accounting process, corporations.
Corporations consist of a more detailed process, which include cash
flows, depreciation, stocks, dividends, bad debts, and inventories.
It is an extension of all aspects of financial statements included in
proprietorships and partnerships (balance sheets, income statements,
and worksheets). Additional topics include the stock market and the
Federal Reserve Bank. Electronic calculators and computers are used
on a regular basis.
Prerequisite: Computerized Accounting I with grade of
C or better
Multimedia
Applications I
Grades 11-12
Multimedia
Application I is a 9-weeks course giving students advanced experience
in using multimedia to merge text, graphics, video and sound into various
multimedia titles. Applied principles are used to analyze and organize
information, set up a design structure and produce special visual expressions.
Students will edit sound, make podcasts, and do voiceovers in presentations.
Prerequisite: Desktop Publishing I & II with a grade of C or better

Applications II
Grades 11-12
Multimedia
Applications II is a 9-weeks course giving students advanced experience
in using multimedia to merge text and graphics, as well as editing and
dubbing video and sound. Applied principles are used to analyze and
organize information, set up a design structure and produce special
visual expressions. Students will explore the importance of balance
and principles that apply to interactive design. Students will also
develop an interactive multimedia presentation.
Prerequisite: Multimedia Applications I
Management
Grades 11-12
Management is a semester course that assists the student in understanding basic management functions. Students study the management process, decision making, environmental factors, basic ethics and social responsibility. Planning, organizing, leading, and controlling are emphasized as well as basic concepts of staffing, leadership, communications, entrepreneurship, and international management.
